Family raised American Cockers Spaniels with Champion
Pedigree's. Most of our dogs are AKC Champions and all AKC
registered. We strive to create the
total package in a Cocker Spaniel-
health, temperament, confirmation and brains and this in all coat
types
and colors including Roans and Sables.
When breeding for myself I want a beautiful, elegant, nice plush
heads, graceful and
intelligent companion all the while conforming to breed type.
If we do not have
what you are looking for I might be able to help you. As I may
know of another breeder that might have what you are looking
for.

MI would like
to introduce our
family
It is Mark and I and our amazing three boys,
We became a combined family in March of 2003
Preston (14), Jaden (14) and Nathan (10)
Our family is like most families with the modern twist to it.
Preston lives with his
mom and comes here during the summer and weekends.
Preston likes
playing computer games and skateboarding.
Loves listening to older rock bands and enjoys watching the latest
movie
He enjoys coming out to farm to see the animals,
they talk about what each other are doing in
school.
Jaden enjoys hands on experiences.
He is an honor roll student. He constantly has laptop in hand.
He is outgoing and loves to be in a group of people and be a leader.
He loves to show Mom how to look things up on the internet
or show me how fix my computer.
He wants to create software programs when he is older
or become a scientist.
Nathan is the athletic one of the bunch. Loves all
sports.
But since he has asthma and allergies you see him with inhaler in
hand.
He is also the most outgoing of the bunch and a lot like Mom.
He likes contest really no matter what kind. He has a "Can Do"
attitude.
He love riding horses and competing with Mom on who can ride the
fastest.
He wants to go in a branch of the military and then become a doctor.
We are located
where Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota meet. Our family lives on a
farm, our house sits on a acreage. There
is 150 acres plus of crop land surrounding us.

I have been involved with Cocker Spaniels since I was a child as my
parents raised them.
They were popular growing up, esp when Disney put out a movie
called,
"Lady and the Tramp" who show cased a Cocker Spaniel.
My kid brother and I would handle the puppies, play with them and
give them silly names.
A Cocker Spaniel was all I ever knew as being a family dog.
Our neighbors even had one of our dogs off spring who was a buff
male named Jake.
Back in the 80's we had a Champion black/white named Charlie and my
dad talked about Charlie constantly- " A great dog".
Our oldest Cocker Spaniel "Jack" a silver buff male died at his old
age of 17.
On hill side we laid him to rest with a homemade box and cross.
Many tears were shed that day. . .

My father has been with me every step of the way on this journey in
raising cockers
He was the one who got me into raising this wonderful breed in the
first place.
And put a puppy in my arms when I was a child and made me fall in
love.
With the deepest gratitude I wish to Thank my father who brought me
to this point.
Who inspired, touched and illuminated me through his love and
passion for the American Cocker Spaniel.

I did not start out wanting to be a breeder.
Gizmo a black male came into my life and he needed a companion.
Dutchess two years later joined our family, today she is 11 yrs old.
Years went by before they had a litter of puppies and one of the
buyers of the puppies
researched Gizmo's pedigree to find he was out of Champions.
I then started the search into pedigree's
and looked into the Cocker Spaniel World more.
With this new information I wanted to learn more and I am
continually researching and learning more and more it seems
everyday. Who knows it all?
I have learned
about Contracts, Shipping, Pedigrees, Payment types, Coat types,
Genetics and now grooming my own Cockers.
A new adventure is which is showing. Learning the in's and
outs of the show world
and the verbage to go a long with it.
Like how to keep parti's white, which shampoo's and conditioners to
use,
Which food not to feed and what supplements to add.
We
are starting to make our own dog treats because of the recent dog
food/treat recalls.
The quality of our dogs did not happen over night but many years.
Many nights looking at pedigree's, photos of dogs, and reading a lot
of material.
Finding out what you like and what you don't like
as well as who is back stabbing who as the cocker world is very
political
and everyone seems like they know it all and never are wrong.
Many phone calls to other breeders, watching hundreds of dog shows
Traveling from one side of the United States to the other.
This process was not immediate and a lot of trial and error.
Many thousands of dollars later.
There is TONS of work just to keep them groomed and cleaned.
Mark said our motto should be.....
"It's All About The Dogs"
As many things we do around here is always about the dogs.
Can you leave to go on vacation- nope, we have dogs.
Buying a vehicle we make sure a cage can fit so we can take to a
show.
We looked to find a property out in the country- had to make sure of
zoning laws.
We go to buy a couch, make sure it has the right material so it does
not inbed dog hair.
Tear out new carpet in whole house- lay down hard wood floors.
Take out linoleum put down tile- chew proof.
This is just a small amount of what happens. I am on many
Cocker list including show and all bred dog lists so I can stay up
dated with all the new products, what other breeders are doing, what
works and what does not work. As well as any recalls on toys,
cages, food, ect. I have really started to come a long way
and I believe other peers can see that too.

We are also proud to
announce
I made the
Top Breeders for the 1st 1/2 of 2008
Our female
CVJ's Sassafras is on

As far as SUCCESS:
It was quoted Success is piece of mind obtained only through oneself
satisfaction
and knowing you made the effort and doing the best in which you are
capable of doing.

2008
What a GREAT YEAR!
We have three
homebred champions and one bred by some one else.
We have finished four Cocker Spaniels in less than 6 months.
We have our 1st homebred Champion CH Aj's Lord Voldemort aka
Riddle
Our 2nd homebred Champion is CH Aj's Neville Longbottom aka Neville
Our 3rd homebred Champion is CH Aj's I'm Parti Trained aka Tru
Our 4th Champion is CH CVJ's N Aj's Can't Buy Me Love aka Shazam
We have two other females that are just a major away from finishing.
In 2009 to 2010
We had some extraordinary puppies out of our
own two Champion boys.
Ch. Aj's Lord Voldemort produced two puppies who went on to show.
Aj's Aine Love Ya aka Rae see her on the Prospects page.
Due to handlers having hair/matting issues she was brought home.
Her littermate brother on the other hand has become a Champion
on 3/20/2010 who was expertly handled by Kendall DeSanto.
Ch. Aj's N MHC's Born To Cause A Ruckus who lives with us at Aj
Kennels.
Ch. Aj's Neville
Longbottom produced some gorgeous kids for Aj Kennels.
Aj's Royal Wizard who is handled by his owner Linda A.
He is currently pointed out and only needing a major to become a
champion.
Linda will also be showing Aj's Royal Enchantress in 2010 out of
another
homebred champion Ch. Aj's I'm Parti' Trained.
Now one would think that just
having the dogs would be it.
Nah, not at our house..
We have other animals here.
We have Rascal a very old black lab who is turning grey.
Many chickens and four ducks.
A house cat and a couple outside cats.
Of course my other love which is horses.
Animals are a very big part of our lives and we love them!
The boys
 Nathan
 Jaden
The boys love the dogs/puppies and they play with them just like I did when I was a
child. The boys love to play fetch with the dogs and tag with
the puppies. I try to make sure all my puppies go to great homes
with loving owners.
Although I am mother to my boys I feel
that I am a mother to my puppies. Mothers never stop being
mothers and they can not be compared with any other. From the
time the puppies are born to the time they leave our home I am a
helping mother. I try to make sure all the puppies get what they
deserve and need just like my children.
I give away puppies
once in a while to those who can't afford a quality
cocker spaniel.
Such as families with children with special need because I too have
a child with
special needs and know how a puppy can help socially and mentally
get through trying times.
I do allow some of them to come with AKC papers, but they are with
Limited Registration
Spay/Neutering agreement.
Besides my
love for cocker spaniels I try to give back to the
community. This year is going to be all about volunteer
work.
I believe the boys will learn life lessons through hands on
experience.
I also enjoy website design, taking photos, reading
a good book, movies,
watching days of our lives, going to dog shows
and traveling. I try to make the best of what God has given me
as we are only here temporarily.
My parents
raised Cockers when I was a child and I still love
them. They are the all American family dog in my
eyes.
